This is the second yearbook of šiauliai "Aušros" museum, covering the period 2005-2017. Continuing the tradition, the museum presents in the book systematized information about its diverse activities.

2005–2017 – very important in the history of the "Dawn" Museum. During this period, the museum cemented its image as an institution of modern culture, consistently and wisely fulfilling the challenges set. The museum's position in the context of Lithuanian muzija has been strengthened and it has become an exceptional institution of cultural and historical memory of the city. All this is also reflected in the yearbook, which applied the concept of the previous yearbook: articles on individual topics of the museum's activities were written by the museum's own museumgoers.

Compiler and designer Vilmantas Dambrauskas. Publisher Šiauliai "Aušros" Museum Publishing House, 2013.

Thanks to the author, for the first time the city of Šiauliai is presented not through traditional images of the city, not through what is created in the city, but through those who create it. The city does not appear by itself, it is created by people. But its creators often remain in the shadow of their work. The city stays while the creators leave. The publication features both artists of honorable age and those who are just beginning their journey. They are people the author knows. According to V. Dambrauskas, some of them were his teachers, from others he learned himself. They are people who have fascinated or impressed the author. Some of them radiate wisdom, others exude youth. The appearance of young artists who are just beginning their creative path in the photo album is like an advance, an encouragement to work towards making the city's name known. In this context, the city is presented as a symbol of intergenerational renewal, of the transmission of experience from one generation to the next.

Compiled by Vilija Ulinskytė-Balzienė. Publisher Šiauliai "Aušra" Museum Publishing House, 2017.

In 2019, at šiauliai book fair in Šiauliai and Telšiai counties, the publication of the most beautiful book in the elections was recognized as the winner of the category "Most Aesthetic Book".

Antanas Dilys is one of the pioneers of Lithuanian photography, who devoted his time in history with works whose significance is beyond the reach of contemporaries, and which will only be fully revealed in the perspective of a more far-off time. Starting his career in photography at a time when creative photography in Lithuania was at a standstill, A. Dilys soon found himself at the forefront of a burgeoning organised photographic art movement alongside other activists. However, he not only encouraged others to create and share their work, was active in his own work as well, but also saw the sense of not taking time to capture the present time, to collect and preserve everything that represents it. He looked back to the past, to the origins of Lithuanian photography, and began to consistently collect the legacy of the old masters of photography as well as the relics of the photographic culture of our past, which had been scattered by the wars and disruptions. Dilys raised the idea of the Lithuanian Museum of Photography and, with his talented realisation, laid a solid foundation for the tradition of preserving our photographic heritage. Today, The Photography Museum in Šiauliai, founded by A. Dilis, preserves the legacy of his photographic activity and creativity, which he gave to the Museum free of charge. After giving his all to the museum and the photographic community, he has made only modest efforts to present his own work more widely. Thus, in this first album, we will discover the time and people of A. Dilis, still unknown to many.
For the first time, the album presents a retrospective presentation of the photographer Antanas Dilis's artistic legacy, most of which is preserved in the Museum of Photography in Šiauliai.

The catalogue-album “The Uprising of 1863: Faces, Names, Stories” gives meaning to the 150th anniversary of the Uprising of 1863, helps to understand the importance of the uprising, and raises the awareness of the historical memory that it has. It presents the exhibits of the uprising that are preserved in museums in Lithuania, Poland (Suwałki and Augustów) and Belarus (Grodno). 3 articles are published: “The Uprising of 1863-1864 Years: the Military Aspect” (1863–1864 m. sukilimas: karinis aspektas) by VMU Prof. Jonas Vaičenonis, “The Uprising of 1863 in the Context of Everyday Life Research” (1863 metų sukilimas kasdienybės tyrimų kontekste) by VU ŠA Prof. Jonas Strelcovas, “The Historical Memory of the Uprising of 1863 in the Museums” ( 1863 metų sukilimo istorinė atmintis muziejuose) by Prof. V. Šiukščienė.

The four parts of the catalogue contain images and descriptions of 449 exhibits. The catalogue was compiled without presentation of museum material by groups of exhibits, as this method does not allow to show the links between different exhibits. Since the majority of the exhibits in the catalogue are photographs, they form the axis on which other exhibits are grouped (documents, prints, works of art, objects, etc.), which in one way or another tell the life stories of the people portrayed in the uprising, present their activities, highlight their personalities and so on.
